With a broken down boiler and no budget for repairs, the play club was going to be without heating or hot water. The club's manager, Moira Kerrane, got in touch with SELCHP to ask for help and the team immediately came to the rescue, donating staff time and expertise to help get things back on track. They have also committed to funding the maintenance of the boiler for a full year.
Moira commented: 'Thanks to the lovely team at SELCHP, playtime is back on! They've fixed our boiler and payed for a full year's maintenance so we can keep the children warm and happy while they play. We rely on volunteers to run the club and it's fantastic to know there are also local businesses prepared to give us support.'
Jamie Alice, Mechanical Engineer for Veolia SELCHP who worked with the play club to get the repairs completed said: 'We know a thing or two about boilers at SELCHP and it was lovely to be able to use that knowledge to help the community. It's great that the children were able to enjoy play time after all, we were delighted to help.'
SELCHP operates a community funding scheme that is open to schools and community groups near to the facility. Applications are open for the 2016 fund until end of October, for details on how to apply please contact email@example.com
