We are currently recruiting for the following positions :
Operations Manager
Operations Manager
Veolia Environmental Services is looking for an Operations Manager to manage all operational aspects and processes on site at the SELCHP, Energy Recover Facility in South East London.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the plant operates within its PPC requirements and other environmental legislation. You will ensure compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental management systems, policies and procedures to guarantee safe systems of working.
In liaison with the Maintenance Manager and others you will be required to manage a budget, projects, planned and unplanned outages, feasibility studies, evaluation, costing and programming of plant improvements.
The successful candidate will need to be a proven team leader with management experience, good communication skills, analytical ability and a practical approach to solving engineering problems. As a minimum you will be qualified to HNC or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline. Previous experience gained in a process industry such as Chemical, Waste incineration or Power generation involving steam raising plant, would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities and experience necessary for this role are:
• Responsible for safe and efficient operation of a modern Energy from Waste Plant. High pressure industrial boilers, turbo generators, auxiliaries and emissions abatement plant
• Supervise the activities of the operational shift team
• Supervise the activities of the day operatives dealing with the materials handing of incoming refuse and outgoing residues
• Become the shift “Senior Authorised Person” dealing with the control of safety and safety documentation
• Carry out fault diagnoses on electrical/mechanical system in order to liaise with the maintenance department for investigation of repairs and routine maintenance
